Leadville plays host to many races each year. Of course, the world-famous Leadville Trail 100 takes the cake as our annual flagship race. Nearly 2000 riders brave the elevation and elements of the Sawatch Range to the west and south of town to conquer this monster in August.  The LT100 crew also puts on the Silver Rush 50, which takes place in the East Side mining district into the Mosquito Mountains. With some high elevation passes and steep sustained climbs it’s just as grueling as the 100, packed into half the distance.
